Varnish is a web application accelerator platform, which caches content for the sake of faster access. It’s sometimes called a caching HTTP reverse proxy too and it interacts between a web server and a web browser. When a site visitor loads a given page, its content is requested by the Internet browser, and then the server handles this browser request and sends back the necessary info. If Varnish is enabled for a certain site, it will cache the pages on the very first visit and in case the visitor opens a cached page once more, the content will be delivered by the accelerator platform and not by the server. The improved load speed is a result of the substantially faster response time that Varnish offers as compared with any web server software. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that the site visitors will continue being served the same content again and again, as any modification on any of the pages is reflected in the content that Varnish caches in its system memory.

Varnish in Cloud Hosting

Varnish comes as an optional upgrade with each of our cloud hosting service. You can add it to your account from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with all shared web hosting packages and you’ll get an amazingly simple-to-work-with GUI, which will give you complete control over the data caching system. In case you’re in need of more than that, you can increase the system memory allocation. The memory itself is offered in increments of 32 MB in the Upgrades section of the Control Panel. The exact same Upgrades section will permit you to enable more instances too, if you wish to use the Varnish caching platform with multiple Internet sites. The two things can be added independently – you can cache the content of one resource-absorbing website or use several different sites with the default memory quota. You can get the most out of the Varnish caching platform in case you have a dedicated IP and you can order one with your semi-dedicated package as well. Hepsia will grant you full control over the caching platform and, with no more than one single click, you’ll be able to clear the cache, to view a log or to restart an instance.

Varnish in VPS Servers

You can use Varnish with all our VPS server packages at no extra fee, as the caching platform is pre-installed and is included by default. The sole requirement is that the VPS server must come with the Hepsia Control Panel, through which you will be able to activate Varnish for any of your sites with just a few mouse clicks. Each package includes a different amount of system memory for data caching purposes, but you’ll have minimum several hundred megabytes, which is sufficient even for multiple frequently visited websites. Soon after you activate the Varnish platform, it’ll begin caching the content that your site visitors request, so you will notice the much better Internet site loading speeds and the reduced load on the VPS server in no time. The caching platform will allow you to use a less costly virtual server, as you won’t need that many resources to sustain the proper operation of your websites even if you’ve got traffic-hungry websites with numerous visitors. Maximum results are achieved if the websites which use Varnish also use a dedicated IP address.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can use Varnish in order to improve the loading speed of any site that’s hosted on a dedicated server with us when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is installed on the machine.
